THE GUIDE: HOW TO STORE A KNIFE COLLECTION?

How to store a knife collection?

If you are a knife collector like me, you know the importance of knife storage. My knives are priceless to me, and to most collectors they have some sentimental value, so it makes sense to store them properly and preserve their beauty and longevity for generations to come.

Keeping them sharp, oiled , dry, and out of the sun is essential to ensuring they don't rust and last forever, but how you store them can also be crucial. Throwing your knives in a drawer and letting them get beat up is a bad idea.

Here are different ways to store your knife collection:

  • KNIFE BAG

The knife bag is a great option for folders, especially if you like to carry your knives around from time to time. Brands like Boker or Benchmade all have excellent storage bags for knives of various sizes.

Bags can be made from full grain leather, vinyl, canvas and durable polyester with felt interiors, thick foam padding and soft fabric for scratch-free storage. This type of storage is designed for pocket knives and hunting or tactical knives. It is not recommended to put kitchen knives in it.

  • KNIFE CASE

Protective sheaths are also used for firearms and are a surprisingly effective method for storing knives. Well, maybe it's not that surprising since they are designed to hold firearms and other equipment, but the sheaths whether made of leather, nylon hold the knives in place extremely well. On top of that, many of these cases lock, so you don't have to worry about kids getting a little too curious. Knife cases are designed to fit any knife, just be careful about the size of the case or your knife blade might not fit.

  • KNIFE CASE

Knife cases are a convenient way to store knives in a rolled-up package to save space while effectively keeping your collection out of harm's way.

Most rollers consist of a soft inner lining made of felt, fabric or soft cloth that ensures a safe environment. Exteriors can be made of leather, vinyl, canvas or durable polyester.

Designed for all knives, the optimal protection for your collection.

  • KNIFE DISPLAY

For those who like to simply leave their collection at home and never move them, perhaps a nice display stand for your knives will please you. There are a ton of options when it comes to choosing a display stand, but first you need to determine what size you'll need.

If you are looking for a small display stand, you can opt for a noble wood display stand not only for storage and visibility, but also for a touch of class and decoration for presentation purposes.

The display is ideal for hunting knives , tactical knives, butterfly knives, automatic knives, they will be very easy to access.

  • MAGNETIC SUPPORT

I would say this is less common for pocket knife collections and more common with kitchen knives. A magnetic knife strip is a long rectangular piece of metal that is magnetized to hold knives. As I said, this is a common method of storing kitchen knives instead of a drawer or knife block (which can be difficult to clean).

One problem is that the strips are generally smaller, so those with larger collections would need a fair amount. This also requires the knives to be open, and knives with exotic materials like ceramic and titanium don't like to be magnetized, you risk damaging your blade.

Magnetic tapes do have some advantages, however. You can display them quite well and access them easily. If you use a different knife every day, this might be more convenient.
